2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
To provide you with a seamless social media experience, we collect the following categories of personal information:

2.1 Account and Profile Information:
When you create an account, we collect your username, email address, mobile number (if voluntarily provided), and a hashed (encrypted) version of your password. You may also optionally provide a biography (bio), profile picture, UPI ID (for voluntary creator/business payment purposes), and links to your other social media profiles to personalize your account.

2.2 User Content (Photos, Videos, Captions, and Comments):
Poster is a social media platform. We collect and store the photos, videos, captions, comments, and any other content you upload, post, or share on the App. This content is the core functionality of the service and is stored to display your posts to you and other users.

2.3 Interaction Data (Likes and Comments):
We collect information about your interactions with other users' content. This includes the posts you like, the comments you write, and the posts you view or share. This data helps us personalize your feed and improve the App's algorithms.

2.4 Referral Data:
We maintain a referral system to build community engagement. We collect data regarding who invited you (the referral link used) and your referral tree structure (levels and invites). This data is used exclusively to manage referral relationships and determine eligibility for promotional subscription benefits. This system is strictly for community building.

2.5 Device Information:
When you use the App, we automatically collect technical information about your device, including the hardware model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, mobile network information, and IP address. This helps us diagnose technical issues and ensure the App functions correctly across various devices.

2.6 Usage Data and Logs:
We collect log data and usage statistics, such as app open times, features used, time spent on the App, posts viewed, and your interaction patterns (likes, comments, shares). This aggregate data helps us understand user behavior, improve user experience, and fix bugs.

2.7 Payment Information (Processed by Google):
Poster does not collect users' bank card details or payment credentials for subscription payments, as subscriptions are processed through Google Play Billing. If a user voluntarily adds a UPI ID to their profile for creator or business payment purposes, that UPI ID is stored securely and is not used to process subscription payments.

2.8 Push Notification Tokens:
With your explicit consent, we collect your device's push notification token to send you real-time alerts about likes, comments, admin announcements, and important policy updates.

2.9 Future Data Collection (Analytics and Advertising):
Currently, we do not collect data for analytics or advertising purposes. However, we may integrate analytics (such as Firebase Analytics) and advertising networks (such as Google AdMob) in the future to improve the App and monetize it. We will update this Policy and notify you via in-app notification before activating any such data collection.

3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use your personal information strictly for the following legitimate purposes:

3.1 To manage your account, authenticate your login, and maintain your profile.
3.2 To provide the core social media service, including displaying your posts, showing you content from other users, and allowing you to interact with others via likes and comments.
3.3 To manage your referral tree and level, determining whether you are eligible for promotional free access to the App.
3.4 To process your subscription payments (via Google Play Billing) and manage your auto-renewing subscription status.
3.5 To send you push notifications (only if you have opted in) for activity alerts and announcements.
3.6 To analyze usage patterns and improve the App's interface, performance, stability, and security.
3.7 To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, spam, phishing, and other prohibited or illegal activities.
3.8 To comply with applicable Indian laws, regulations, and judicial requests.

4. LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING YOUR DATA
Under the Indian Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023 and other applicable laws, we process your data on the following legal bases:

4.2 Legitimate Interests: We process data to improve the App, ensure its security, prevent fraud, and enhance user experience.
4.3 Consent: For optional features like push notifications, we process data solely based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
4.4 Compliance with Law: We may process data to comply with tax retention laws (e.g., maintaining transaction records for 7 years) and respond to court or government orders.

5. USER GENERATED CONTENT, MODERATION AND COPYRIGHT
Poster is a User Generated Content (UGC) platform. We respect intellectual property rights and strive to maintain a safe, harassment-free environment.

5.1 Responsibility for Content:
You are solely and fully responsible for the content (photos, videos, captions, comments) you post. You represent and warrant that you own all rights to the content or have obtained all necessary licenses and permissions to use and share it. You agree not to post content that is illegal, obscene, defamatory, harassing, threatening, or violates third-party rights.

5.2 Reporting Mechanism (3-Dot Menu):
We empower our community to self-moderate. You can report inappropriate content or users directly through the "Three-Dot" (⋮) menu, available on both individual posts and user profiles. You may also report violations via email to poster062026@gmail.com.

5.3 Moderation and Content Removal (Manual):

- Our Action: Upon receipt of a complete and valid takedown notice, we will remove the allegedly infringing content while an investigation is conducted.
- Repeat Infringers: We maintain a policy to terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat infringers.

6. PAYMENT AND SUBSCRIPTION INFORMATION (GOOGLE PLAY BILLING)
6.1 Subscription Plans:
We offer three types of auto-renewing subscriptions: Monthly, Quarterly (3-Month), and Yearly. All plans grant full access to the App's features during the subscription period.

6.2 Auto-Renewal:
All subscriptions are set to auto-renew by default. The charge for the renewal will be applied to your Google Play account within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You are solely responsible for managing your subscription and turning off auto-renewal via your Google Play account settings.

6.3 No Refund on Renewal:
As per our Refund Policy, we generally do not issue refunds for renewal charges if you forget to cancel the auto-renewal, except where required by applicable law or Google Play's refund policies.

7. DATA SHARING AND DISCLOSURE
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes. We share your data only in the following limited circumstances:

7.1 With Google Play Billing: To process your subscription payments securely. Google's privacy policy governs their handling of your sensitive payment data.
7.2 With Cloud Service Providers: We use trusted third-party cloud hosting and infrastructure providers to host the App, store data, and send push notifications. These providers are contractually obligated to process data only on our instructions and to maintain strict confidentiality and security.
7.3 With Law Enforcement: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid request from a public authority (e.g., a court order).
7.4 In Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred to the new entity. We will notify you via in-app notification or email before your data is transferred.

8. DATA SECURITY MEASURES
8.1 General Measures:
We use industry-standard security measures, including SSL/TLS encryption for data in transit, secure password hashing (bcrypt), and access controls to protect user information.
